Oppo announces Find X9 Ultra for global markets, coming to India later this year

OPPO has officially confirmed that its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Find X9 Ultra, will make its global debut later this year, with an India launch also expected around a similar timeline. This will also be the first time that the company’s Ultra variant expands beyond China.

OPPO announced the Find X9 Ultra during a media event at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. The company has positioned it as a camera-first device, expected to double down on advanced mobile imaging — an area where OPPO has steadily built its reputation.

Going by that pitch, at the heart of the Find X9 Ultra will be the company’s most advanced imaging system to date, co-developed with Hasselblad. According to the company, this collaboration continues OPPO’s focus on professional-grade photography, combining next-generation optical engineering with colour science tuned for more natural and detailed output.

While OPPO is yet to reveal the full spec sheet of the Ultra variant, expectations are that it will build on and significantly enhance the capabilities seen on the Find X9 Pro.

What to expect: Find X9 Ultra

The Find X9 Ultra is expected to offer a major step up over the standard X9 line-up, especially in imaging and battery performance. Early details and industry chatter suggest that OPPO is preparing a significantly upgraded quad-camera system, including a 200-megapixel main sensor paired with a 200-megapixel 3x telephoto lens. In addition, the device is tipped to feature a 50-megapixel periscope camera with up to 10x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, making it one of the most ambitious camera setups the brand has attempted so far.

Reports also speculate that the 200-megapixel periscope sensor could be a large 1/1.28-inch unit, which should improve low-light performance and overall image detail. Alongside the hardware upgrades, the Ultra model is expected to bring improved computational photography powered by upgraded AI algorithms, to refine zoom clarity, portrait output and colour accuracy.

Meanwhile, OPPO’s Zhou Yibao recently confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra will pack a battery exceeding 7,000mAh, a clear jump over the Find X8 Ultra’s 6,100mAh cell. The Find X9 Ultra is also expected to offer high-speed wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.

For comparison, the Find X9 Pro already packs flagship-grade hardware. It features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,600 nits of peak brightness. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset built on a 3nm process, paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.

On the camera front, the Pro variant offers a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, alongside a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. For selfies, there is a 50-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone houses a 7,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 80W wired SuperVOOC charging and 50W wireless AirVOOC charging. It also carries an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance and runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.

So, to deliver a clear step-up in performance over the Find X9 Pro, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to push things further, particularly in camera hardware, zoom capabilities, overall battery capacity, and overall performance.
