A heartwarming moment between Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj caught everyone’s attention after RCB’s win over GT in IPL 2026. A viral video showed Siraj walking up and hugging Kohli from behind, with the two sharing a warm embrace.
It was a small moment, but one that hit home, especially in Bengaluru. Siraj was once a fan favourite here, and seeing him back at the Chinnaswamy, sharing a laugh with Kohli, brought back a lot of memories.
Watch the video:
Siraj walked up to Kohli soon after the match ended, caught him from behind and wrapped him in a hug. Kohli turned, smiled, and hugged him back. Nothing elaborate, just a genuine moment between two players who have shared a long journey together.
WHAT IS SIRAJ’S BOND WITH RCB?
Siraj’s move to Gujarat Titans ahead of the 2025 season brought an end to his time with RCB, where he had grown into one of India’s leading fast bowlers. He was not just another player in the XI, he was someone the crowd had taken to.
Now part of the GT setup under Ashish Nehra, alongside Prasidh Krishna and Kagiso Rabada, Siraj has settled into a new role.
But games against RCB still feel a bit different. The familiarity is there, the connections remain, and it shows in moments like these.
HOW RCB THRASHED GT
The match itself followed a different script. Chasing 206, RCB got a big break early when Kohli was dropped first ball, a chance GT would regret.
Kohli made it count, scoring 81 off 44 balls and controlling the chase. Alongside Devdutt Padikkal, who made 55 off 27, he added 115 runs for the second wicket to put RCB firmly on top.
The required rate kept dropping, and even when a couple of wickets fell, there was no real panic. RCB wrapped up the chase with five wickets in hand and seven balls to spare.
