The Kerala Story 2 box office Day 5: Film crosses Rs 16-crore mark after Holi boost

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond showed notable growth at the box office following its weekend release, with collections rising significantly during the Holi holiday. The film, which hit theatres amid controversy and legal uncertainty, is now nearing the Rs 20-crore mark in gross collections, according to the trade website Sacnilk.

Box office data indicates that the film earned an estimated Rs 4 crore nett (gross minus taxes) at the domestic box office on Tuesday, which coincided with Holi, almost doubling Monday’s earnings of Rs 2.5 crore nett. The strong performance during the holiday period helped the film recover from its slow start and match weekend numbers.

Cumulative earnings from India are reported at approximately Rs 16.65 crore in nett collections, while the gross total has reached an estimated Rs 19.75 crore.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, The Kerala Story 2 tells the stories of three Hindu women from different Indian states who defy family expectations to marry Muslim men and are subsequently compelled to convert. The film has generated significant discussion regarding its portrayal of social issues in India.

The film stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, Aishwarya Ojha, Sumit Gahlawat and Arjan Singh Aujla in key roles. It was released in theatres on February 27, 2026.
