Samsung launches Galaxy M17 5G budget segment phone with 6 OS updates

Samsung on Friday (October 10, 2025) expanded its budget offerings under the M series and launched Galaxy M17 5G smartphone for Indian buyers. The new Samsung Galaxy M17 5G succeeds the Galaxy M16 5G, with AI features like Circle to Search, Gemini Live.

The South Korean electronics major will offer 6 years of OS and 6 years of security updates to Galaxy M17 5G. It bears IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Galaxy M17 5G has a 6.7 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 1,100 nits peak brightness. The back panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Galaxy M17 5G ships with a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.

Galaxy M17 5G sports a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 5 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro lens. It has a 13 MP front camera for selfies.

Samsung has used a 6nm-based Exynos 1330 processor in Galaxy M17 5G with up to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. It operates on Android 15 with One UI 7 out of the box.

Galaxy M17 5G also comes with On-device Voice Mail that allows callers to leave a message when a call goes unanswered, along with Samsung’s Knox Vault and Voice Focus features.

Galaxy M17 5G starts at ₹12,499 for the 4GB/128 GB variant. The 6GB/128 GB costs ₹13,999 and 8GB/128 GB will be available at ₹15,499. It will sell in Moonlight Silver and Sapphire Black shades, starting October 13 on Amazon, Samsung and select retail stores.
