At a time when smartphone companies are raising the price of their models due to an increase in the price of RAM, there is news that might delight you. Samsung has lowered the price of some of its smartphones. This price cut is mainly applicable to Samsung Galaxy S25 series devices. The move comes a few months after the company introduced its latest Samsung Galaxy S26 Series devices. The company might have announced the price cut to make older models still attractive for buyers, as the Galaxy S26 series is now widely available.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra gets major price drop
After the price cut, buyers can now get last year’s flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra at a starting price of Rs 99,999. The 512GB model is now available for Rs 1,14,999. During its launch, these variants were available for Rs 1,29,999 and Rs 1,41,999, respectively.
Galaxy S25 sees sharp price reduction
The price cut is also available on the Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphone. Its 256GB variant now starts from Rs 62,999, which was priced at Rs 94,999 during the launch, while the 512GB variant is now available for Rs 77,999, which was priced at Rs 1,14,999 during launch.
Affordable variant also gets cheaper
The toned-down, affordable model of the flagship is also part of the price cut. The base variant with 128GB storage is now available for Rs 44,999, which was launched at Rs 59,999, while its 256GB and 512GB variants are priced at Rs 50,999 and Rs 65,999. They were launched at Rs 79,999 and Rs 99,999, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series: What’s new
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Series brings some major advancements that were not available in the previous generation. The Galaxy S26 Ultra gets a privacy display, which protects users from peeking eyes. Other enhancements include slightly bigger lenses in its camera that allow more light on the sensor and a flagship new chipset. Users will also experience higher charging speed with the flagship smartphone.
However, these features and improved performance come at a higher price. Currently, the S26 Ultra is available on Samsung’s website for Rs 1,39,999 for the base variant. If you want to spend an extra Rs 40,000, then the latest smartphone is the best choice for you; otherwise, the S25 Ultra is essentially the S26 Ultra without a privacy display, bigger camera lenses, and slightly slower charging.
Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S26: Key differences
If you are confused between the S25 and S26, then the major difference between the two lies in the processor and battery. The S26 is powered by the Exynos 2,600 chipset, while the S25 comes with Snapdragon 8 Elite. The S26 has a bigger battery—4300mAh in comparison to 4,000mAh in the S25—while other specifications of the smartphones are the same. The S26 currently starts at Rs 87,999 in India.
