Redmi is gearing up to launch the Redmi K90 Max in China on April 21. The company has been teasing the device online for some time, and has now released a microsite revealing key specifications and features of the smartphone. The K90 Max is likely to join the existing Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max lineup, which debuted in China in October last year. The device is also tipped to launch in India as the Xiaomi 17T.
Redmi K90 Max specs and features
Earlier, Xiaomi Group President, Lu Weibing, on Weibo, confirmed that the Redmi K90 Max will have an active cooling system, which will be the first of its kind. The brand later teased the feature as “the biggest fan ever put inside a smartphone.” The company claimed that the cooling system will lower the temperature by up to 10 degrees Celsius within approximately 100 seconds.
The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, aligning with earlier leaks. On the battery front, the smartphone will pack a massive 8,550mAh cell with expected 100W wired charging, along with 22.5W reverse wired charging. It could also support an IP66, IP68, or IP69-rated design for water and dust resistance. The battery could power a 6.83-inch display, which may offer a 1.5K resolution. The display will feature a 165Hz refresh rate. The device has also been teased to include a new eye protection mode.
In terms of design, the handset has been teased to feature a large camera plateau. The module is expected to house a dual-camera setup, an LED flash, and air vents for the built-in cooling fan.
For context, the Redmi K90 Pro Max was announced in China on October 23, 2025. The smartphone features a large 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It offers a resolution of 1200 2608 pixels and can reach a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, with protection provided by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass.
On the camera front, the device comes equipped with a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, it houses a 32MP front-facing camera. The phone supports video recording up to 8K resolution.
Under the hood, the Redmi K90 Pro Max is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
The device packs a 7,560mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging, offering both long endurance and fast charging capabilities.
