Maruti Suzuki posts 2.14 lakh sales in February 2026, exports surge 56%

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) reported total sales of 2,13,995 units in February 2026, registering a healthy growth over the 1.99,400 units sold in the same month last year. The company’s performance was led by strong export momentum and steady demand across its utility vehicle portfolio.

Domestic performance remains steady

In the domestic market, MSIL clocked 1,64,130 units (including light commercial vehicles), marginally higher than 1,63,501 units sold in February 2025.

Passenger vehicle (PV) sales stood at 1,61,000 units, almost flat compared to 1,60,791 units in the year-ago period. Adding light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales of 3,130 units (Super Carry), total domestic PV+LCV sales reached 1,64,130 units.

Sales to other OEMs contributed 10,710 units, taking total domestic sales (PV+LCV+OEM) to 1,74,840 units, compared to 174,379 units in February last year.

Utility vehicles drive growth

The utility vehicle segment continued to be a key growth driver for the automaker. Models including the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, XL6, Jimny and Invicto recorded combined sales of 72,756 units, up from 65,033 units in February 2025, reflecting sustained consumer preference for SUVs and MPVs.

In contrast, the mini and compact segment (comprising Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Ignis and Celerio) saw sales of 76,624 units, down from 83,168 units a year ago, indicating a gradual shift in demand towards larger vehicles.

The company’s van segment, led by the Eeco, posted 11,620 units, slightly higher than 11,493 units in February 2025.

Exports register sharp jump

Exports emerged as a standout performer for the month. MSIL shipped 39,155 units overseas, marking a significant increase over 25,021 units exported in February 2025, a growth of over 56 percent year-on-year.

Year-to-date performance (April–February)

For the financial year 2025–26 (April–February period), Maruti Suzuki’s total sales stood at 2,197,462 units, compared to 2,041,282 units in the corresponding period of FY2024–25.

  • Total domestic sales (including OEMs): 1,796,728 units (vs 1,741,665 units last year)
  • Exports: 400,734 units (vs 299,617 units last year)
  • Utility vehicles (YTD): 689,631 units (vs 659,089 units)
  • Mini + Compact segment (YTD): 836,863 units (vs 817,946 units)

With the utility vehicle portfolio gaining strength and exports expanding sharply, Maruti Suzuki appears well-positioned to close FY2025–26 on a firm footing.
