ISRO Plans 7 Space Missions Including Gaganyaan by March 2026

ISRO Aims for Seven Major Launches by March 2026

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced an ambitious plan to conduct seven space missions, including the first uncrewed Gaganyaan flight, before March 2026. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of 50 rocket launches over five years.

Key Mission Details

Chairman V Narayanan confirmed that all hardware for the Gaganyaan program has reached Sriharikota and integration is underway. The space agency plans three uncrewed missions before the crewed launch, with the first ‘G1 Mission’ scheduled before March 2026.

“Our Gaganyaan programme is progressing well. It is in advanced stages. All hardware have arrived at Sriharikota and integration is happening. We have planned three uncrewed missions. The first uncrewed mission, ‘G1 Mission’, is going to be achieved before the end of the current financial year,” Narayanan stated.

Upcoming Launch Schedule

  • Another LVM3 rocket launch carrying a commercial communication satellite
  • Three PSLV missions, including one for NSIL customer satellite
  • PSLV-N1 technology development mission
  • GSLV-F17 rocket mission

Narayanan acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating: “I know it is not an easy job. It is a tough job. But I know that we will accomplish these activities.” He confirmed that “Team ISRO is geared up to meet the vision of the Prime Minister to launch 50 missions in the next 5 years.”
