Tecno Pop X 5G launched in India with a 6500mAh battery and IP64 Pro-rated protection

Tecno has launched the Tecno Pop X 5G in the Indian market. The device features a design similar to the Tecno Spark 50, which was introduced last month. This handset also carries a horizontal pill-shaped camera module housing a camera sensor and LED flash. The smartphone, positioned as a budget offering, packs a 6,500mAh battery. It will be available via Amazon and is set to go on sale starting April 24.

Tecno Pop X 5G specs and features

The Tecno Pop X 5G features a 6.78-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 560 nits of brightness.

Under the hood, the handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, paired with up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD.

For photography, the device offers a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. To keep the lights on, the mobile packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.

The Tecno Pop X 5G runs on Android 16 with HiOS 16. Other additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP64-rated dust and water resistance, along with drop-tested durability.

The smartphone comes with a feature called FreeLink Communication, which allows users to connect directly with nearby devices even without network coverage. The company claims it enables calling, messaging, and file sharing over distances of up to 1.5 km in open environments. On the design front, the smartphone features a horizontal pill-shaped camera module that houses the camera sensor and an LED flash within separate cutouts inside the same unit. The rear design is reminiscent of the iPhone Air. It features a sleek and modern aesthetic with an 8.18mm body.

In terms of artificial intelligence, the device comes with a suite of smart AI tools.

From AI Noise Cancellation for clearer calls to an AI Writing Assistant for quicker content creation. It also includes tools like AI Eraser 2.0, AI Image Extender, AI Flash Snap, WhatsApp Assistant, and Circle to Search, further enhancing the overall user experience.

The Tecno Pop X 5G price and availability

The base variant of Tecno Pop X 5G is priced at Rs 15,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. And the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant comes at Rs 17,999. The smartphone will be solely available for purchase on Amazon from April 24.
