Telangana, Andhra Pradesh dominate JEE; no girl scores 100 percentile

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the JEE Main Session 2 (2026) results, bringing relief and celebration for lakhs of engineering aspirants across the country.

The merit list includes many strong performances, with several candidates scoring a perfect 100 percentiles.

A closer look at the data, however, highlights a clear regional trend: southern states have once again emerged as dominant performers in this national-level examination.

SOUTHERN STATES LEAD JEE MAIN 2026 RANKINGS

The standout narrative this year was the exceptional performance of candidates from South India.

States like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have produced multiple perfect scorers, reinforcing their reputation as academic powerhouses in competitive exams.

SOUTH INDIA LEADS JEE MAIN 2026

The JEE Main 2026 results continue an ongoing trend, with southern states, especially Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, producing multiple top scorers, including several candidates with perfect 100 percentile scores. This consistent performance underlines the region’s strong presence in engineering entrance exams.

At the same time, the data points to limited female representation among the top ranks of these states, with only one girl topper recorded.

In JEE Main 2026 Session 1, Rajasthan emerged as the top-performing state with the highest number of 100 percentile scorers. However, southern states such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also featured prominently among top rankers. This trend has continued in Session 2, where both states have further strengthened their position with multiple perfect scorers.
