Samsung Galaxy S26 series launching on February 25, here is what you can expect

Samsung is set to host its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026 in just a few days. The Korean giant has teased its next-generation of flagship devices, the Galaxy S26 series for the event. And numerous rumours have been making the rounds over what we can expect from Samsung this time around.

The Galaxy S26 series is expected to comprise three devices – the Galaxy 26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming Samsung flagships before they launch.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series design and display

The Galaxy S26 series is rumoured to introduce a significant design update, including a new unified camera module across all three models, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The top-of-the-line Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature more rounded corners and is tipped to be slightly thinner than its predecessor at 7.9mm. The device is also expected to use an aluminium frame instead of the titanium we saw on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Leaks suggest the Ultra could come in new colour options such as purple, black, white, and silver.

All models are expected to use Samsung’s new M14 AMOLED panels for improved efficiency and visuals. While the base Galaxy S26 will likely use a 6.3-inch panel, the Galaxy S26 Plus is expected to pack a 6.7-inch unit. The screen size of the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely be 6.9 inches.

Additionally, Samsung has teased that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to include an inbuilt privacy feature to hide sensitive content from onlookers.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series cameras

The Korean giant is unlikely to be taking a big step-up with the cameras of the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S26 Ultra may pack the same setup as its predecessor – a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto and a 50-megapixel 5x periscope lens. The front camera is expected to remain a 12-megapixel unit.

However, as per reports, Samsung is expected to improve image processing resulting in more accurate skin tones.

The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus will likely come with similar camera setups to their predecessors – a 50-megapixel primary, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series performance and battery

Samsung is likely to use a split-chipset strategy for the Galaxy S26 series, with devices featuring either the Exynos 2600 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, depending on the region. Though it is unclear which chipset will make it to our shores just yet.

On the battery front, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely retain the 5,000mAh cell from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but with faster charging speeds – 60W wired and 25W wireless.

The base Galaxy S26 is expected to come with a 4,300mAh battery, instead of the 4,000mAh of its predecessor. While the Galaxy S26 Plus may use a 4,900mAh unit. Rumours also indicate that Samsung may bring Qi2 wireless charging support to the entire lineup, making the devices essentially compatible with Apple’s MagSafe.

Apart from the expected spec bumps, AI will be a key focus this time around. Samsung is expected to incorporate more AI features across the entire lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch and expected price

The Galaxy S26 series will be launched on February 25, 2026 at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in San Francisco, USA. There is no official word on pricing just yet. However, Samsung may keep the S26 series pricing unchanged from its predecessor.

For reference, the Galaxy S25 started at Rs 80,999 with the Galaxy S25 Plus priced at Rs 99,999. The Galaxy 25 Ultra was launched with a price tag of Rs 1,29,999.
