Nearly six years after tearing down a historic $37 million mansion, LeBron James is seeing his vision rise above the hills of Beverly Hills. The NBA star purchased the 1930s estate in 2020 and cleared the land soon after, setting plans in motion for a custom-built compound designed around privacy, scale, and long-term living.

Construction reportedly started in 2023 after permits were secured. Fresh aerial images now reveal the framework of two expansive residences stretching across more than 2.5 acres. The transformation signals more than a rebuild. It marks a new chapter for one of basketball’s most accomplished figures as he balances career questions with deep roots in Los Angeles.

The property once held Hollywood history. It had ties to icons such as Katharine Hepburn and Howard Hughes before James acquired it. Today, the land tells a different story.

Plans show two separate modern mansions positioned back to back. The larger residence will span nearly 16,000 square feet across two levels, supported by a 7,700 square foot basement garage. A spa and backyard pool overlook sweeping views of Beverly Hills. The second home measures about 6,550 square feet and includes its own basement entertainment area (per Daily Mail).

Both homes will share a secured motor court, complete with a guard house at the entrance.

Once completed, each residence will receive its own address. High perimeter fencing and advanced security systems add another layer of privacy.

The project is being developed by Crest Real Estate with architectural design from Walker Workshop, a firm known for luxury homes across Los Angeles.

Luxury details define the estate. The larger mansion will include an outdoor kitchen, a private movie theater, multiple entertainment rooms, and rooftop solar panels for energy efficiency. The smaller residence features a terrace with plunge pools, landscaped courtyards lined with palm trees, and dedicated garage space.

Reports indicate the compound may serve as a family-centered space, with speculation that the second home could house his eldest son, Bronny, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.

James could end his basketball tenure by the end of this season, or not. However, the 41-year-old has built a palace to spend his retirement days with family. Whether he extends his career or steps away, his Beverly Hills estate stands as a lasting investment in Los Angeles.
