CBSE announces CTET Paper-2 re-exam 2026 for affected candidates with new admit cards; check details here

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official notice regarding a re-examination for candidates who could not appear in the recently conducted Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). This move aims to provide relief to students affected due to technical difficulties or other disruptions at the examination centres.

The notice states that the re-exam will be held only for those students who were absent in their examination. Candidates who are affected must take the exam in the same centres where the original centres faced disruptions.

The CTET Paper, 2 re-exam for the affected candidates will be held on March 1, 2026. Only candidates who could not take their paper earlier due to technical or other issues are eligible to appear. The board has emphasised that the re-exam is not open to candidates who already appeared successfully in the initial examination.

CBSE has advised candidates to regularly check the official website ctet.nic.in for precise details about their allotted examination centre and reporting time.

A new admit card will be issued for this re-exam, which can be downloaded using the registration number and date of birth. The admit card will indicate the address of the examination centre and the mandatory reporting time.

Candidates must carry the new admit card for entry; old admit cards will not be accepted. They must report minimum one hour before the examination starts. For verification, they have to show a photo ID which can be an Aadhaar card, voter ID, or PAN card, together with a recent passport, sized photograph.

Banned items inside, of, exam, centre are electronic gadgets of any kind, e.g., mobile phones, watches, Bluetooth devices, etc. Those candidates who will be under the affected group will be given extra time so that they will be able to focus on the areas that they need to improve. The board has ordered all students to ascertain all information only through the official site of ctet and to refrain from those misleading sources.
