Vacancy details and nature of posts
The department is filling 1,508 vacant contractual posts under major rural schemes such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), and Finance Commission Grants.
The notification clearly states that these posts are temporary and will remain valid only for the duration of the respective flagship programmes. The jobs are co-terminus with the schemes.
This means once the scheme period ends, the service will also end. The department has specified that no request for continuation, regularisation, or extension of service will be considered.

Application dates and selection process
The online application process started on February 22, 2026.
The last date to apply is 11:59 PM on March 22, 2026. Applications submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.
