CBSE Class 10 Board Exam results 2026 have brought focus on Ayusman Mohapatra, a student of Aditya Birla Public School, Odisha, who secured a perfect 500/500 in the board exams.
A resident of Bhubaneswar with roots in western Odisha, Ayusman followed a consistent and concept-focused preparation strategy throughout the year which has put him among the top achievers of CBSE Class 10 results.
Ayusman lives with his parents and grandparents. His father is a senior manager at Postal Bank and his mother is a homemaker. He also has a younger sister who studies in Class seven.
Ayusman provides details of what all went through during the preparation of his board class. He says he had started his preparation well before and completed everything by October – November.
His family environment also helped him stay focused and disciplined throughout his preparation.
His approach was not driven by marks, but by building a strong academic foundation.
HOW DID AYUSMAN PREPARE FOR CBSE CLASS 10 BOARD EXAMS 2026?
Ayusman began his preparation early in the academic session, around March–April, with a clear goal to complete his syllabus by October or November.
“So, I started in March – April. And my goal was to strategise in such a manner that I would complete my syllabus within October or November,” he says.
He studied every day, without following a rigid timetable, but ensured consistency. He dedicated around two to three hours daily to self-study, apart from attending school and online coaching classes.
“I studied every day, but like two or three hours of self-study time. I was missing neither the online classes nor school classes,” he says.
Even as exams approached, he avoided late-night studying and maintained a stable routine.
“I never stayed awake till late, like 12 or 1 am. I used to sleep maximum by 11.30 pm usually,” he adds, noting that he would wake up around 6 am.
WHAT WERE HIS KEY STRATEGIES DURING PREPARATION?
Ayusman’s preparation was centred on discipline, consistency and clear goals. He believes that focusing only on marks can limit learning.
“I always try to keep my goals very specific. Because Rome was not built in a day,” he says.
He emphasises that effort matters more than results in the long run.
“This result is not important. What is important is that I worked hard. Even if someone has scored less than me and has worked harder, then in future that is going to help,” he adds.
He also highlights the importance of both hard work and smart work during preparation.
HOW MUCH DID AYUSMAN SCORE IN EACH SUBJECT?
Ayusman secured a perfect 500/500 in the CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2026, scoring full marks across the top five subjects.
- English Language & Literature: 100/100
- Odia: 100/100
- Mathematics Standard: 100/100
- Science: 95/100
- Social Science: 100/100
- Artificial Intelligence: 100/100
This across-the-board performance highlights not just subject strength but also a balanced preparation strategy across languages, core subjects and skill-based learning.
WHAT ARE HIS FAVOURITE SUBJECTS AND FUTURE PLANS?
Ayusman has a strong interest in Mathematics and Biology.
“I would say maths and in science specifically, I would say biology,” he says.
He has opted for the PCB stream (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in Class 11 and is preparing for the NEET exam.
“I want to crack the NEET exam I want to be a doctor,” he says.
He also shares his interest in specific fields within medicine.
“Neuroscience is a really good field nowadays. And Paediatrics I have emphasised on them,” he says, while adding that he remains open to exploring more options.

HOW DID HE BALANCE STUDIES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES?
Along with academics, Ayusman maintained an active routine outside studies. He regularly played sports such as cricket, football and badminton, especially in the early months of preparation.
“I used to go to play for like an hour. It was just a refreshment,” he says.
He also participated in school activities, including quizzes, debates and competitions, where he won prizes.
In addition, he pursued hobbies like painting and learning the musical keyboard. He even performed old Hindi songs on the keyboard for a school orchestra.
WHAT IS HIS MESSAGE FOR OTHER STUDENTS?
Ayusman believes discipline is more reliable than motivation.
“I do not rely on motivation. It is temporary, but discipline is what I have learnt,” he says.
He advises students to focus on concepts rather than marks.
“I had never studied for 100% marks. My aim was always to build my concepts and strengthen my foundation,” he says.
He also encourages students to stay consistent and not be overly stressed about results.
“If you have worked hard then even if you get less marks, there is no problem. Just be consistent,” he says.
