OnePlus 15 Review: Flagship Power Meets Massive Battery Life

The OnePlus 15 delivers flagship performance and a massive 7300mAh battery, aiming to attract a broader audience beyond just mobile gamers.

Key Takeaways

  • Massive 7300mAh battery with 120W fast charging
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor for top-tier performance
  • New DetailMax camera system replaces Hasselblad partnership
  • Premium design with extensive durability ratings

Design and Display

The OnePlus 15 features a clean, professional design with a square-shaped camera island and slimmer profile. It’s built to withstand daily use with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and multiple IP ratings for dust and water resistance.

The 6.78-inch 165Hz LTPO display offers excellent brightness and color accuracy, ensuring good readability even in direct sunlight.

AI Features and Customization

OnePlus has replaced the traditional Alert Slider with a customizable Plus Key. This new button can be programmed for various functions including toggling ringer modes, taking screenshots, or accessing AI features.

The AI capabilities include text editing and generation, along with advanced image editing tools that enhance the user experience.

Performance and Gaming

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform with up to 16GB RAM, the device handles multitasking and gaming with ease. A dedicated touch response chip provides 3200Hz touch sampling for instant response, while a standalone Wi-Fi chip maintains stable connectivity in crowded networks.

During testing, the phone demonstrated impressive capability by running two games simultaneously without performance drops.

Battery and Charging

The 7300mAh battery is the largest ever in a OnePlus flagship, supporting 120W SuperVOCC wired charging and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. The Bypass Charging function directly powers the device without charging the battery, reducing heat and preserving battery health.

OnePlus claims the battery will retain over 80% of its health after four years of use.

Camera System

The triple 50MP rear camera system includes wide-angle, ultrawide-angle, and telephoto lenses, while the front features a 32MP selfie camera. This year, OnePlus has moved away from Hasselblad partnership to its own DetailMax camera system with Clear Night Engine for low-light photography.

The camera delivers natural-looking photos with improved color tones and dynamic range throughout the day. Zoom capabilities are strong, and videos are sharp and detailed with minimal noise.
