EE Network Outage Hits Hundreds of Mobile and Broadband Users

Key Takeaways

  • Hundreds of EE customers faced mobile data and broadband outages.
  • Around 300 users reported issues on Downdetector on Sunday morning.
  • EE confirmed an outage in the Hull area due to essential maintenance.

Hundreds of EE customers experienced significant disruptions to their mobile data and broadband services, with many reporting a complete loss of signal. This occurred despite EE’s official website indicating no network problems at the time.

Frustrated users took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice their concerns. One customer stated this was the “third time this week” they had lost service, criticizing the network’s “excellent coverage” claims as inaccurate. Others described their mobile signal as “constantly dropping out” or being entirely unavailable.

According to data from Downdetector, approximately 300 people reported issues with EE on Sunday morning.

EE’s Response and Cause

EE acknowledged the problem, confirming it was aware of an outage specifically affecting some customers in the Hull area. The company attributed the service disruption to essential engineering works, which it expects to be completed today.

EE has apologised for the inconvenience and advised affected customers to use Wi-Fi calling where possible as an alternative. The provider also directed users on X to check its network status checker or contact its technical support team for further assistance.
