Marjorie Taylor Greene Accuses Trump of Fueling Death Threats

Key Takeaways

  • Marjorie Taylor Greene accuses Donald Trump of directing death threats against her.
  • Trump withdraws his endorsement, calling her a “ranting Lunatic.”
  • The fallout stems from disagreements over Epstein-related files.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a prominent Republican congresswoman from Georgia and former Trump ally, has publicly accused the former president of fueling systematic death threats against her. In a social media post, Greene stated she now faces the “world’s most powerful man” and drew parallels between the intimidation she feels and the fear experienced by Jeffrey Epstein’s victims.

Greene’s Allegations

Greene, who previously described Trump as “the man I helped get elected,” expressed shock at his aggression toward her despite her consistent support for his legislative agenda. She claimed his rhetoric has radicalized internet trolls, many allegedly paid, leading to serious threats against her safety.

“Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalized by the same type of rhetoric being directed at me right now. This time by the President of the United States. As a woman I take threats from men seriously. I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel,” Greene said on X.

Trump’s Response

Donald Trump responded forcefully, withdrawing his endorsement in a lengthy Truth Social post. He criticized Greene as constantly complaining and declared he could no longer tolerate her daily calls.

“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene. All I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN! I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

Trump warned he would support a primary challenger if Georgia Republicans mounted one, stating constituents were “fed up with her and her antics.” The public fallout between the two former allies highlights significant fractures within the Republican party.
