Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Over 9 crore farmers across India are set to receive Rs 2,000 directly in their bank accounts.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare confirmed the schedule for this major Direct Benefit Transfer. In a special measure, the Centre has already disbursed the 21st installment to support 8.5 lakh farmers in Jammu and Kashmir affected by recent floods, transferring Rs 170 crore on October 7, 2025.

About PM Kisan Scheme

Under the PM Kisan scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 annually. The financial support is distributed in three instalments throughout the year: April-July, August-November, and December-March. All funds are transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Launched in 2019 after being announced in the Interim Budget by then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, PM Kisan has grown into the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer scheme.

Mandatory e-KYC Requirement

Farmers must complete their e-KYC to receive installments. The scheme’s official portal states: “eKYC is MANDATORY for PMKISAN Registered Farmers. OTP-based eKYC is available on the PMKISAN Portal, or the nearest CSC centres may be contacted for Biometric-based eKYC.”

How to Check Application Status

Registered farmers can verify their approval status by:

  1. Visiting the official PM Kisan portal at pmkisan.gov.in
  2. Clicking ‘Status of Self Registered Farmer/CSC Farmers’ in the FARMERS CORNER section
  3. Entering Aadhaar number and completing captcha verification

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the PM Kisan 21st installment, applicants must:

  • Be Indian citizens owning cultivable land
  • Be small or marginal farmers
  • Not be pensioners receiving Rs 10,000 or more monthly
  • Not have filed income tax returns
  • Not be institutional landholders

Registration Process

New registrations can be completed online through the official portal or offline via Common Service Centres. The online registration involves:

  1. Visiting pmkisan.gov.in and clicking ‘New Farmer Registration’
  2. Providing Aadhaar number, state, and captcha code
  3. Verifying Aadhaar via OTP
  4. Completing the application with personal, bank, and land details
  5. Submitting for State Nodal Officer verification

Checking Beneficiary Status

Farmers can confirm their inclusion in the beneficiary list by:

  1. Accessing the PM Kisan portal
  2. Selecting ‘Beneficiary List’ under FARMERS CORNER
  3. Entering state, district, sub-district, block, and village details
  4. Clicking ‘Get Report’ to view the village beneficiary list
