FM Sitharaman Holds Pre-Budget Talks with MSME Sector
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has conducted the third pre-budget consultation with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) stakeholders, focusing on sector challenges and growth measures for Budget 2026-27.

The high-level meeting in New Delhi included Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, senior officials from the Finance Ministry, and MSME Ministry representatives. Discussions centered on enhancing MSME competitiveness and addressing key sectoral hurdles.
The Finance Ministry confirmed the engagement through social media, stating: “Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. @nsitharaman chairs the third Pre-Budget Consultation with the stakeholders from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises #MSMEs in connection with the forthcoming Union Budget 2026-27.”

This MSME meeting follows Monday’s session with leading economists, marking the initial phase of the government’s annual pre-budget dialogue. These consultations form a crucial part of budget formulation, allowing diverse stakeholder input before final presentation.

Budget Timeline
Following the consultation series, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to present the Union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament on February 1, maintaining the traditional presentation schedule.
