Perplexity AI to Launch Indian Politician Stock Holdings Tracker
Perplexity AI will soon enable users to track stock market holdings of Indian politicians through its platform, expanding financial transparency tools to India weeks after launching similar features for US politicians.
Key Announcements
CEO Aravind Srinivas confirmed the development on Saturday, stating: “Holdings of Indian politicians coming in a few weeks” in response to an X post.
Senior employee Jeff Grimes, Head of Live Events product, further clarified that the company was “planning to bring holders data to NSE and BSE stock pages soon”.
Current US Feature
The platform already offers politician stock tracking for the United States through Perplexity Finance. According to the AI chatbot: “Perplexity Finance provides access to politicians’ holdings of public stocks by aggregating and displaying data on stock ownership by politicians. This feature is part of its broader effort to enhance transparency in financial markets, allowing users to see real-time or updated information on which public stocks politicians hold.”
The system currently covers data for more than 600 members of the US Congress as required by STOCK Act disclosures, allowing users to view politician stock holdings and recent transactions.
