A drone strike triggered a fire at the U.S. Consulate in Dubai on Tuesday, as tensions continue to escalate amid the ongoing confrontation involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

A large plume of smoke and fire was seen over the U.S. Consulate in Dubai on Tuesday, as tensions continue to escalate amid the ongoing confrontation involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

In a video, onlookers were seen anxiously watching the smoke coming out of the area.

Eyewitness footage showed a large plume of smoke rising over the U.S. Consulate compound in Dubai on March 3. Reuters verified the location using file and satellite imagery, confirming the building as the U.S. Consulate in Dubai.

Dubai authorities said a limited fire broke out in the vicinity of the consulate following what they described as a drone strike. The blaze was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported, according to Dubai’s media office.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that a parking lot inside the consulate compound was hit in the incident. He added that all consulate personnel were accounted for.
