Antonio Brown Extradited from Dubai on Attempted Murder Charges

Former NFL Star Antonio Brown Extradited from Dubai on Attempted Murder Charges

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai to Florida to face attempted murder charges. The dramatic arrest came just hours after he posted about winning $13,000 in sports betting on Instagram.

Key Developments

  • Brown extradited from Dubai to New York, then transferred to Florida custody
  • Faces attempted murder charges for May 2025 shooting incident
  • Posted $13,000 sports betting win hour before arrest news broke
  • Maintains self-defense claim against robbery attempt

The Extradition and Charges

U.S. Marshals apprehended the former NFL star in Dubai and flew him to New York City this week. He will be transported to South Florida, where he allegedly shot at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu during a celebrity boxing event hosted by streamer Aidin Ross.

Nantambu told media that Brown “snapped” during an argument and attempted to shoot him at the May 2025 event.

“Miami Police confirm that U.S. Marshals have apprehended Antonio Brown and that he has been extradited to the U.S.,” Miami police spokesperson Michael Vega confirmed to NBC News.

Final Social Media Post Before Arrest

Just one hour before news of his extradition broke, Brown posted an Instagram story boasting about winning $13,000 through sports betting. The post was made in partnership with a sports betting company, creating a stark contrast with his legal situation.

Brown’s Defense Claims

The 37-year-old former athlete has consistently denied the charges. His legal team argues he acted in self-defense when videos showed gunshots at the event.

In a May 17, 2025 post on X, Brown claimed a group of men “tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me” during the incident.

“Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED,” Brown wrote at the time.

Brown’s legal representatives have not yet commented on the recent extradition development. He now faces formal attempted murder charges in Florida courts.
