At a time when the smartphone industry is increasingly buzzing on foldable devices — with Apple reportedly working on a foldable iPhone and Samsung focusing on expanding its fold lineup — OnePlus come out with a big screen. OnePlus recently teased a tablet online. While the official name of the tablet remains under wraps, speculation suggests it could be called the OnePlus Pad 3 Pro or the OnePlus Pad 4. It will likely succeed the current flagship OnePlus Pad 3, which was launched in June last year.
OnePlus took to X (formerly Twitter) to tease the launch of a new OnePlus Pad, offering a partial glimpse of its design. The image shared in the post reveals the silhouette of the tablet, featuring a pill-shaped rear camera module positioned at the top-left corner. The OnePlus logo is placed at the centre of the back panel.
Expected specifications and features of the upcoming tablet
Tipster Debayan Roy, who goes by the handle @Gadgetsdata on X, claims that the upcoming device will be the OnePlus Pad 3 Pro. Additionally, he reveals key specs and features of the device. The purported OnePlus Pad 3 Pro is likely to feature a 13.2-inch 3.4K LCD display, which might offer up to 144Hz of refresh rate. On the processor, the Pad 3 Pro could be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship 3nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, along with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
To fuel the tablet, a whopping 13,000mAh or larger battery could be placed inside the pad with 80W wired fast charging support.
For photography, the tablet is expected to carry a 13-megapixel rear camera paired with an LED flash.
As the company has not officially confirmed these details, the information should be taken with a pinch of salt. That said, if the tipster’s claims don’t hold up, other reports suggest the device could arrive as the OnePlus Pad 4.
For context, the OnePlus Pad 3 features a large 13.2-inch IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 900 nits of brightness. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset built on a 3nm process, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
For optics, the tablet includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with support for 4K video recording, along with an 8-megapixel front camera for video calls and selfies. The device is backed by a massive 12,140mAh battery, which supports 80W wired fast charging.
