Apple CFO Hints No New Mac Launches Until 2026

Key Takeaways

  • Apple CFO hints at no new Mac launches for rest of 2025
  • M5 Pro/Max MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac updates likely pushed to 2026
  • Affordable A-series chip MacBook possibly arriving early 2026

Apple’s Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh has strongly indicated that the company won’t release any new Mac models before the end of 2025. During Apple’s latest earnings call, Parekh stated the company expects lower Mac sales in Q4 2025 compared to the same period last year, citing major 2024 launches versus a “much quieter” 2025 lineup.

“On Mac, keep in mind, we expect to face a very difficult compare against the M4 MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac launches in the year-ago quarter,” he said.

Recent M5 Launch Limited to Base Model

Earlier this month, Apple introduced only a refreshed 14-inch MacBook Pro with the standard M5 chip. Notably absent were models featuring higher-end M5 Pro or M5 Max chips, while the Mac mini and iMac received no updates at all.

2026 Mac Lineup Expectations

Multiple reports now suggest Apple has pushed the launch of its next MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models – all expected to feature M5 series chips – to 2026. The MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro are also scheduled for updates next year.

Industry speculation also points to a more affordable MacBook powered by Apple’s A18 Pro or A19 Pro chip, potentially arriving in early 2026. This model would succeed the aging MacBook Air M1, which remains available through Walmart for $599.
