“Not a good team” – Former NBA legend Charles Barkley slams Los Angeles Lakers ahead of clash against Golden State Warriors

Former NBA legend Charles Barkley is known for his unapologetic statements and brutally honest opinions. Ahead of the clash against the Golden State Warriors, the former Houston Rockets star made some shocking comments on the Los Angeles Lakers as a team. He believed that it was not a good team. While the other individuals present in the studio tried to defend them, Charles seemed quite adamant about his opinions.

This is not the first time Charles has opened up on his opinions about players and teams. Previously, the legend had commented on how Luka Doncic is not eligible for the MVP awards and that he should be removed from the list. This came up when Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles were talking about the number of games top contenders for the MVP race could potentially miss without affecting their eligibility.

Charles Barkley gets brutally honest about Los Angeles Lakers’ image within the league

On NBA Tip-Off, former Houston Rockets forward Charles Barkley made some really shocking comments. He slammed the Los Angeles Lakers as a team and their relevance within the league. Charles blatantly stated, “I get sick of people saying they are contenders. I have been saying for months that the Lakers are not a good team. ” He further added, “I just find it funny how the media has turned on Luka. Everything is Luka’s fault. Now I find that hilarious. The Lakers, they are not a good team. They are not athletic. They are not good defensively. I guess we’re contractually obligated to talk about them every day on our network now. “

When Kenny Smith decided to jump in, saying how the Lakers have two Hall of Famers on the team, Charles continued to defend his statement. He added, “We are not talking about Hall of Famers, we are talking about this season. They are still not good.” Even Ernie Johnson tried to put in his opinion about how the Lakers are a major attraction for the league and are the marquee franchise. To this, Charles replied, “And they are gonna be the marquee franchise for about another 20 games and the nightmare gonna be over.”

What did Charles Barkley say about Luka Doncic?

In one of the previous NBA Tip-Off episodes, Charles Barkley had a rather shocking opinion about Luka Doncic’s MVP race. As he started discussing the 65-game rule with Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal, at one point the former NBA legend made a brutal statement about Luka. Charles stated, “We love Luka, but take him off the list [MVP list]. That ship has sailed. Let’s stop it, Ernie. I love Luka, take him off the list. ”
