Azcentral’s Duane Rankin reported on Saturday that Devin Booker will have another evaluation in a week due to hip pain. Booker has now had two serious injuries this season. Due to a sprained ankle, he missed seven games in a row in late January and early February.
According to the insider, Haywood Highsmith “will continue his rehabilitation following right knee surgery last offseason,” In two to three weeks, he will have another evaluation.
Booker will not be able to make the All-NBA team if he misses six more games this season, as he has already missed twelve. He can only miss one more game the rest of the season to remain eligible, and his earliest possible comeback date is March 3.
The Suns also revealed that Haywood Highsmith, a recent addition, is still recuperating from surgery on his right knee. He will have another evaluation in 14–21 days. He hasn’t performed this year.
During the All-Star break last week, Phoenix signed him.
The Brooklyn Nets dismissed the 29-year-old on February 5 and he signed a multiyear contract with the Suns. Since April, when he was a member of the Miami Heat organization, he has not played in a game.
The Suns will be shorthanded going forward, but on Thursday, Dillon Brooks, who was suspended for one game for his 16th technical foul of the season, will return.
