Denny Hamlin’s disagreeable Michael Jordan comments have triggered NASCAR fans’ ire towards the FOX broadcaster

Many might believe that an iconic basketball player has no place in a car racing sport. However, Michael Jordan has consistently proven his worth as a NASCAR team owner, particularly when it comes to fighting for the team’s rights through the charter lawsuit. The fact that Jordan is partnered with a NASCAR legend, Denny Hamlin, as co-owner of 23XI Racing compensates for his “lack” of knowledge. However, there will always be a select few who have a problem with something like this. During an interview, Hamlin revealed a not-so-nice remark directed toward Jordan.

Disagreeable comments stir discussions

During an episode of Actions Detrimental, Denny Hamlin admitted to something he overheard at a meeting in Daytona.

“There was someone we had a meeting with in Daytona who said MJ does nothing for the sport. And it was a prominent figure in the sport. He also has a podcast,” said Denny Hamlin.

Travis, the host, expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s involvement in the many interviews he does throughout the race. He described it as powerful for the sport, which Hamlin agreed with.

Despite the fact that Hamlin’s comment reveals that not everyone shares the same views about Jordan’s contributions to the sport.

However, this vague statement sparked public backing from fans and a discussion about who it could be.

Fans started online debates

A fan commented, “Shit, just from the lawsuit alone. MJ/Hamlin might have done more for this sport than any team owner since I started watching in 02/03. It actually helps the sport and teams as a whole vs. what most team owners want, which is to help line their pockets or help their cars win.”

This suggests how, on the contrary to doing “nothing,” MJ has actually prioritized the long-term health and equality of the sport instead of his own motives.

Other fans commented on similar opinions, showing support for how they believe Jordan and Hamlin have helped the sport overall. However, this sparked debate about who originally commented.

“Larry Mac 100%. The podcast bit is generalized. They could’ve been in a media meeting with Channel 90 because AD runs on there with other Dirty Mo media,” one fan guessed.

This remark led other people to agree that it was FOX broadcaster Larry McReynolds who made the statement.

A fan stated, “If you listen to him on Sirius XM on his show, you don’t have to read between the lines very hard to understand how he feels about Hamlin and MJ. When the lawsuit was going on, it was pretty brutal listening to him, and Danielle constantly dogged Hamlin and MJ.

As the number of people commenting and conspiring increases, the individual who spoke will probably be revealed sooner or later, whether they choose the timing or not.
