Indra is a 2002 release Telugu action-drama featuring Chiranjeevi in the titular role. Set in the backdrop of Rayalaseema, an arid area with water scarcity, the film featured Chiranjeevi in the role of Indra, a fierce protector. Also featuring Aarthi Agarwal, Sonali Bendre, Mukesh Rishi, Sivaji, and Prakash Raj in key roles, the film had all the elements of a mass entertainer. The film, directed by B Gopal, won several awards, including three Nandi Awards. It was also a massive success at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film at the time. It even broke records, being the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2002, after ‘Devdas’.
