Maruti Suzuki India Limited has strengthened its premium retail presence with the inauguration of its 200th Nexa Studio outlet, marking another milestone in the evolution of its flagship Nexa channel.
The expansion underlines the company’s strategy to make its premium car-buying experience more accessible, particularly in semi-urban and emerging markets. Depending on geography and sales potential, the Nexa network operates in two formats; full-fledged Nexa main outlets and the more compact Nexa Studio outlets. Collectively, the Nexa sales network now spans over 740 outlets across more than 530 cities in India.
Focus on aspirational semi-urban buyers
Commenting on the development, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, said Nexa represents innovation, design, and a premium ownership journey. He noted that the rapid rollout of Nexa Studios reflects the growing demand for a refined car-buying experience beyond metropolitan cities.
According to Takeuchi, a rising segment of aspirational customers in semi-urban regions is seeking a more premium and personalised retail environment. The Nexa Studio format has been designed to cater specifically to these markets. He added that, with continued support from dealer partners and customers, the company aims to scale up the NEXA Studio network to 600 outlets by the end of FY2030-31.
Nexa’s growing contribution to domestic sales
Launched in July 2015, Nexa was created to attract new-age customers through a differentiated retail and ownership experience. Within its first year, the channel had established 100 outlets across 94 cities.
In FY2024-25, Nexa recorded sales of over 5.4 lakh vehicles, contributing nearly 30 per cent to Maruti Suzuki’s total domestic sales. The premium channel currently retails models such as the Baleno, Fronx, Grand Vitara, XL6, Ignis, Jimny, Invicto and the recently-launched e Vitara.
What sets Nexa Studio apart
Introduced in August 2024, the NEXA Studio format was conceptualised to extend the brand’s premium experience to non-urban geographies. Unlike conventional satellite showrooms, these outlets function as integrated facilities offering sales, service and spare parts under one roof, creating a comprehensive and immersive ownership ecosystem.
Within a short span of its launch, Maruti Suzuki, in collaboration with its dealer partners, has established 200 Nexa Studio outlets nationwide.
