Israel military headquarters hit? Iran claims successful strike on Hakiriya in Tel Aviv

Israel Defence Ministry Hakiriya Headquarters: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed it successfully struck the Hakiriya complex in central Tel Aviv, the main military headquarters of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

According to Iran’s IRGC Aerospace Division, missile and drone attacks effectively targeted what it described as the Israeli Ministry of War and the General Staff offices, Iranian state media reported.

Tehran said the operation succeeded due to what it called “technical gaps” in Israel’s multi-layered air defence network, which allegedly allowed the projectiles to reach sensitive military infrastructure. Reports noted smoke rising over parts of central Tel Aviv.

Israel, however, has not officially confirmed the strike or any damage to the high-security command facility.

Iran hit US Navy destroyer

The claim comes amid a broader escalation in regional tensions. Earlier, Iran said it had launched a missile strike against a US Navy destroyer operating deep in the Indian Ocean. The IRGC stated the attack occurred roughly 600–650 kilometers from Iran’s coast while the vessel was reportedly refueling alongside a support tanker.

Iranian officials said the operation involved Ghadr-380 medium-range ballistic missiles and Tala’iyeh strategic cruise missiles. State media in Tehran reported that the strike triggered major fires aboard both the destroyer and the tanker. The US military has not verified the incident or confirmed any damage.

Iran on war with US-Israel

Tehran maintains that these actions are part of its ongoing retaliatory campaign following recent Israeli and US moves against Iranian leadership. The IRGC has indicated the operation will continue and has previously claimed attacks on US-linked interests across West Asia, including in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.

Iran’s response has intensified after the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, with Tehran launching drone and missile strikes on multiple US diplomatic facilities in the Gulf, including missions in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait by March 4.

US on war with Iran

Meanwhile, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Admiral Brad Cooper said Washington’s military campaign against Iran is continuing and that Tehran’s ability to retaliate is weakening. He stated that US forces have significantly degraded Iran’s air defences and destroyed hundreds of its ballistic missiles, launchers, and drones.

Cooper added that the US military is operating ahead of schedule, asserting that Iran’s capacity to strike US forces and regional partners is declining even as American combat power in the region continues to grow.
