Declaring the dawn of a “golden age of America,” Donald Trump struck a triumphant tone in his State of the Union address, saying the nation was “back — bigger, better, richer and stronger than ever before.” Calling his return to the White House as a turning point, he praised what he described as a year of sweeping revival and renewed global standing.
Chants of “USA! USA!” echoed through the chamber after House Speaker Mike Johnson introduced the president. Trump also acknowledged First Lady Melania Trump and Second Lady Usha Vance, both of whom received standing ovations from Republican lawmakers.
He went on to say that the last time he spoke in the chamber a year ago, he had “inherited a nation in crisis, with a stagnant economy.”
“I secured commitments for more than $18 trillion pouring in from all over the globe,” he said, before adding, “Now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world — the hottest.”
Donald Trump said the United States has received over 80 million barrels of oil from its “new friend and partner,” Venezuela. He also pledged to revive the country’s struggling oil industry following the capture of President Nicols Maduro, who was taken to New York to face drug-trafficking charges.
