Ranji Trophy Final, Karnataka vs Jammu and Kashmir: When and where to watch

The 2025–26 Ranji Trophy final promises a compelling clash as Karnataka face Jammu and Kashmir at the KSCA Rajnagar Stadium in Hubballi from February 24–28, in what is set to be a thrilling conclusion to India’s premier domestic first-class tournament. Karnataka, one of the most successful sides in Ranji history, will be chasing their ninth title, while Jammu and Kashmir aim to lift their maiden Ranji crown.

The final brings together two contrasting narratives: established dominance and underdog ambition. Karnataka, eight-time champions, return to the title clash after 11 years and start as favorites, backed by their experience in high-pressure encounters. Meanwhile, J&K’s remarkable run to the final, ending a long wait and overcoming formidable opposition, underlines the side’s resilience and steady progress this season.

Karnataka look to end long wait

Karnataka’s run to the final has been built on solid batting and disciplined bowling. Led by Devdutt Padikkal, the batting unit has shown remarkable consistency. Ravichandran Smaran has amassed 950 runs at an impressive average of 95 this season and currently leads the tournament’s run-scoring charts, while Karun Nair has added 699 runs at 63.54.

Their contributions have formed the backbone of Karnataka’s campaign, particularly in the knockout stages, where they asserted dominance, including a commanding 736 in the semi-final.

With the ball, Shreyas Gopal has been instrumental, claiming 46 wickets so far, well supported by pacer Vidwath Kaverappa. Together, they have enabled Karnataka to control key phases of matches and apply sustained pressure on opponents.

Jammu and Kashmir aim history

For Jammu and Kashmir, this final is far more than just another game — it is the reward for years of perseverance and belief. Their impressive campaign included a memorable six-wicket semi-final win over Bengal, sealed by composed knocks from Abdul Samad and Paras Dogra in a controlled chase. Samad has also been their leading run-scorer this season, amassing 655 runs from nine matches at an average of 59.54, with a highest score of 125.

While the senior players have provided stability throughout the season, it is their bowling spearhead, Auqib Nabi, who has made the biggest impact, claiming 55 wickets at a superb average of 12.72. He has received strong support from left-arm pacer Sunil Kumar and spin all-rounder Abid Mushtaq, giving the side a balanced and effective bowling attack.

As Karnataka chase another Ranji title and Jammu and Kashmir aim to script history, the final promises a compelling contest between proven experience and fearless ambition on India’s domestic stage.
