There was a big boxing match on Saturday night, and during the match, a rather frightening scene was witnessed where George all of a sudden leaned over in his corner between rounds.

It occurred during one of the bouts of a fight night in which undisputed champion Claressa Shields was featured in the main card, and the fans, officials, and other fighters were very much concerned.

George apparently collapsed between rounds without any noticeable symptoms. His corner crew and the referee were quick to signal, and within seconds, trained medical personnel were around assessing him.

Emergency responders were used to stabilise him and put him on a stretcher.

He was then ferried out of the arena and to a neighbouring hospital, where he underwent a further assessment. Witnesses described the situation as tense, expressing their dread at seeing the boxer treated by the doctor in the ring.

Such events illustrate the natural dangers of combat sports when the participants are subjected to excessive physical activity in the ring. The ringside medical teams are trained to act immediately in this kind of situation, and the quick intervention taken by the medics is strongly attributed to saving George and stabilising him in time.
