BAFTA Awards 2026: Alia Bhatt calls daughter Raha her ‘true inspiration’; says ‘she’s three now, dancing to my songs’

Alia Bhatt made her debut at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards in London, on Sunday. The actress made jaws drop as she stepped up in a shimmery silver gown with a dramatic fur shawl. Alia Bhatt on her love for cinema

When asked what excites her about theatre and movies, Bhatt quipped, “I think I say this all the time, but I think I came out of my mother’s womb on action. ”

Reflecting on her journey in the film industry, she said, “I feel most myself in front of the camera. Being in front of the camera to me, it’s a blessing. I feel so grateful that I love my job so deeply.”

The actress, who is also a mother to a three-year-old daughter, Raha Kapoor, went on to admit, “I have to say that my true source of inspiration and magic right now is my daughter.

Looking at her, you know, just bloom, and she’s three now, dancing to my song sometimes. I’m like, okay, that is life. ”

Alia Bhatt on turning presenter for BAFTA Film Awards

Bhatt, who was announced as a presenter for the awards show, revealed that she will be presenting one of the Best Film Not in the English Language. She said, “A great category. And what I mean is, what incredible nominees! I think for me, one of the things that I love about cinema is that you don’t have to have one language to truly enjoy cinema. You don’t have to understand the language because what truly drives it is just emotion, and that feeling, that just sort of pulses out at you from the big screen. ”

Sharing her excitement for the evening, she added, “So, yeah, I’m really excited. Tonight’s the night celebrating cinema and I’m like, it’s all about the love of the movies.”

Alia Bhatt to produce a film in the UK?

The Bollywood actress and producer was also asked whether audiences could expect to see her backing a film in the UK anytime soon. Not denying the possibility, she said, “I mean, I would say put it out there. Put it out there. Put it out there, like, tonight, we’re putting it out there. Yeah, I think it’s a great night for it. Yeah, it’s the best night, actually. ”
