Czechia forward Radek Faksa to remain absent in the quarter finals against Canada following an injury

Dallas Stars forward and Team Czechia player Radek Faksa has recently been sidelined with an undisclosed upper-body injury for Czechia’s quarterfinal clash against the powerhouse Canada, which is scheduled to take place on February 18, 2026. This was announced by Czech reporter Robert Rampa on Tuesday.

This is a big loss for Team Czechia to play in the absence of Radek Faksa. According to the NHL, Faksa is considered to be a very promising player. He has established himself by playing 80 games in 2016-17 and finishing fifth on the Stars with 21 assists in his first full NHL season.

Faksa was traded to the St. Louis Blues by the Dallas Stars on July 2, 2024, for future considerations.

However, the player returned to the Stars by signing with them a three-year, $6 million contract on July 1, 2025, as per the NHL. The player was chosen to represent Czechia, but it seems he won’t appear during his team’s match against Canada in the quarter-finals.

Radek Faksa sidelined by Team Czechia due to an injury against Team Canada at the Olympic quarter-finals

Dallas Stars forward Radek Faksa will remain absent for a second straight game after an undisclosed upper-body injury for Czechia’s quarterfinal clash against Canada at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics on February 18. As per the report, Faksa did not participate in Czechia’s 3-2 qualification round victory over Denmark on Tuesday due to an upper-body injury, as reported by Elliotte Friedman and Czech reporter Robert Rampa on Tuesday.

The player sustained a major injury during the team’s preliminary round finale against Switzerland on Sunday, playing 8:51 spread out over 13 shifts before departing. Considering his upper-body injury, reports suggest that Faksa won’t be in action until at least February 25, when the Dallas Stars will play against the Seattle Kraken after the Olympic break.

Earlier, through three prelims, the 32-year-old depth center tallied two assists in limited bottom-six minutes, showcasing his prior experience with the Dallas. According to TSN, the Dallas Stars centre has two goals and 15 assists for 17 points in 56 games so far this season, and he has spent almost 10 of his 11 NHL seasons with the Stars.

Meanwhile, Czechia is currently preparing to face a daunting Canada squad featuring Connor McDavid’s dominance in the quarter-finals, and Radek Faksa’s absence will be heavily felt in this game too, as the player had contributed two assists in three Olympic games with Czechia.
