Pakistan Army’s Operation Sindoor Demolishes JeM, LeT Terror Hubs

Pakistan Army’s Operation Sindoor Demolishes JeM, LeT Strongholds

In a major counter-terrorism strike, the Pakistan Army has demolished key strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Sindh and Punjab provinces. The operation, which also led to arrests of key operatives linked to the 2019 Pulwama attack, is seen as a significant blow to the capabilities of both terror groups.

Key Details of Operation Sindoor

Codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’, the offensive was launched in the first week of January. Intelligence sources confirm the Pakistan Army used heavy artillery and mortar fire to destroy terror infrastructure.

The targeted hubs were located in:

  • Sindh Province: Shikarpur and Sukkur.
  • Punjab Province: Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur.

These facilities were used for training recruits, planning attacks, and storing weapons and ammunition.

Intelligence Trigger and Arrests

The operation was initiated after intelligence indicated both groups were planning major attacks in Pakistan and India. During the raids, the army arrested several key operatives, including individuals involved in the 2019 Pulwama attack in India.

Strategic and International Impact

The move is viewed as a major success in Pakistan’s anti-terror fight and a signal of its commitment to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which has pressured the country to act against terror groups on its soil.

The international community, including the United States and the United Kingdom, has welcomed the operation. It is expected to significantly degrade JeM and LeT’s capabilities, potentially reducing terror attacks in the region.
