Mahindra has officially launched the XEV 9S, its first three-row electric SUV in India, with prices starting at ₹19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The new 7-seater expands Mahindra’s electric vehicle portfolio alongside existing models like the XEV 9e, BE 6, and XUV 400.
Based on the XUV 700 platform but re-engineered for electric powertrain, the XEV 9S enters the competitive 7-seater segment where it will rival the Kia Carens Clavis.
Exterior Design Features
The XEV 9S sports a clean, modern EV aesthetic with a sealed front grille, signature L-shaped LED daytime running lamps, vertically stacked projectors, and a sleek LED light strip across the nose. Additional design elements include aerodynamic alloy wheels, flush door handles, roof rails, shark-fin antenna, and dedicated EV badging on both front and rear.
Battery and Performance Specifications
Under the hood, the XEV 9S offers the same 59kWh and 79kWh battery options available in the BE6 and XEV 9e models. Both configurations deliver 380Nm of torque, with the smaller battery producing 228bhp and the larger unit generating 282bhp.
New 70kWh Variant
Mahindra has introduced a new 70kWh battery configuration paired with a single motor that produces 241bhp and 380Nm of torque. This variant claims an impressive 0-100kmph acceleration time of just seven seconds.
