Apple iPhone Fold Price Leaked: $2,399 for 2026 Launch

Key Takeaways

  • Apple’s first foldable iPhone could launch in 2026 at $2,399 (approx ₹2.14 lakh)
  • Analyst predicts 15.4 million units sold, with 5.6 million in the first year
  • Expected to cost more than the 1TB iPhone 17 Pro Max model

Apple’s long-anticipated entry into the foldable smartphone market is gaining momentum, with analysts predicting a 2026 launch for the first iPhone Fold. The device represents Apple’s crucial attempt to adapt iOS for foldable technology, a move closely watched by competitors like Samsung.

Premium Pricing Strategy

According to Fubon Research analyst Arthur Liao, Apple’s foldable iPhone could carry a premium price tag of $2,399 (approximately ₹2.14 lakh). This would make it more expensive than the expected 1TB variant of the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The high price suggests Apple might follow its Vision Pro strategy, initially releasing the foldable in select markets. Premium materials including titanium and lightweight components are likely contributing factors to the cost.

Strong Sales Projections

Despite the premium pricing, analysts remain optimistic about market reception. Projections indicate Apple could sell 15.4 million units of its first-generation iPhone Fold, with 5.6 million units expected to be sold in 2026 alone.

Technical Specifications and Design

The iPhone Fold is expected to feature Samsung’s flexible OLED display technology, with cover screen options of either 5-inch or 6-inch sizes. The device will likely incorporate design elements from the iPhone Air concept and utilize titanium construction.

Powering the foldable could be the A20 Pro chipset, the same processor expected to drive the iPhone 18 Pro series launching around the same timeframe. While Google’s Pixel Fold has emphasized durability, Apple is expected to strike a careful balance between innovative design and practical functionality.
