Razorpay Founder Responds to Viral MCD Parking QR Code Scam Video
Razorpay co-founder Shashank Kumar has addressed a viral video exposing an alleged payment scam at a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) parking site, promising a security update to prevent misuse.
A widely circulated video shows a man using a Razorpay payment device to ask drivers to scan a QR code connected to his personal account rather than the official parking system. The clip was captioned “New scam unlocked.”
Shashank Kumar responded directly, stating: “In the next software upgrade we will disable gallery access unless really needed for the seller.” This change aims to prevent unauthorized use of personal gallery access for fraudulent transactions.
