Urban Company Posts Rs 59.3 Crore Q2 Loss Due to Insta Help Push

Urban Company Reports Rs 59.3 Crore Q2 Loss Amid Insta Help Investments

Home services platform Urban Company swung to a net loss of Rs 59.3 crore in the second quarter of FY26, a sharp reversal from the Rs 6.9 crore profit recorded in the previous quarter. The loss stems from substantial investments in the company’s new daily-housekeeping service, Insta Help, despite strong revenue growth in core operations.

Key Financial Highlights

  • Net loss: Rs 59.3 crore in Q2FY26 vs Rs 6.9 crore profit in Q1
  • Revenue from operations: Rs 380 crore (up 37% YoY)
  • Total expenses: Rs 462 crore (up from Rs 384 crore in Q1)
  • Adjusted EBITDA: Negative Rs 35 crore vs Rs 21 crore profit in Q1
  • Cash reserves: Rs 2,136 crore (up from Rs 1,664 crore)

Insta Help Impact and Core Performance

The Insta Help vertical alone reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 44 crore during the quarter. Excluding this segment, Urban Company would have achieved an adjusted EBITDA profit of Rs 10 crore, representing 0.9% of net transaction value.

Company leadership remains optimistic about the new vertical. “Early indicators for Insta Help are encouraging, with strong consumer adoption and repeat usage,” Urban Company stated in its shareholder letter. The company believes the segment holds “significant long-term opportunity and believes these investments are important to sustaining market leadership.”

Other Business Segments

The smart home products division, Native, showed impressive growth with revenue surging 179% year-on-year to Rs 75 crore. Losses in this segment narrowed significantly to 9% of NTV from 30% in the previous year.

Urban Company expects adjusted EBITDA losses to continue in the near term as it continues investing in Insta Help, though its core India and international businesses remain profitable and cash-generating.
