Crompton Greaves Secures Massive ₹445 Crore Solar Rooftop Project

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals has secured its largest-ever solar rooftop order worth ₹445 crores, marking a major expansion into India’s renewable energy sector. The 77 MW project will install 2 KW on-grid rooftop systems across 40,000 households in Andhra Pradesh.

Rapid Market Expansion

This landmark project comes just two months after Crompton’s entry into the solar rooftop segment. The company recently secured a ₹52 crore order, demonstrating strong market traction. The solar rooftop market is projected to grow over 20% annually, driven by improving technology affordability and declining costs.

Comprehensive Implementation Strategy

Crompton will deploy trained personnel and a responsive service network to ensure efficient performance across all installations. The initiative aligns with India’s renewable energy goals by providing reliable solar solutions to households.

“This landmark solar rooftop order of ₹445 cr marks an important milestone in Crompton’s journey in renewable energy. It reflects the growing trust in our ability to deliver large-scale, sustainable solutions that align with India’s clean energy ambitions,” said Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director & CEO.

Building on Core Strengths

While known for fans and residential pumps, Crompton has expanded into lighting solutions and home appliances. The company also maintains a strong B2B lighting presence with energy-efficient solutions for commercial applications.

“This project highlights our energy-efficient solar solutions at scale, covering over 40,000 households. Our team will manage the complete process, ensuring quality and consistency across every site,” stated Shaleen Nayak, Business Unit Head – Lighting.

The project represents a significant step in and positions Crompton as a key player in India’s growing solar infrastructure landscape.
