‘I’m in great shape, no difficulty’: US President Donald Trump puts health rumours to rest

Rubbishing reports of any health trouble, US President Donald Trump, during an Oval Office meeting, said he’s in great shape, mentally and physically, putting to rest all the speculations about him not doing well health-wise.

Trump would undergo his second ‘routine’ physical examination in six months at Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday. His visit renewed speculations about the 79-year-old Republican’s health.

On Thursday, Trump told reporters that he’s going for a physical checkup but is in great shape.

‘I feel very good mentally and physically’

“I’m meeting with the troops and I’m going to do a sort of semi-annual physical. I think I’m in great shape, but I’ll let you know,” he said.

Known for boasting about his ‘perfect cognitive score’, Trump once again brought it up in this recent interaction. The President said that his doctor hadn’t seen a perfect score yet.

“No difficulty. Physically, I feel very good, mentally I feel very good. I did a cognitive exam, which is always risky, because if I didn’t do well, you’d be blaring it. I had a perfect score. One of the doctors said he’d almost never seen a perfect score! I said, did Obama, Bush do it? Biden? Biden should’ve done it. If you’re president, you should do a cognitive exam,” said Trump in his trademark style.

Trump’s recent health diagnosis

Rumours about President Trump’s poor health has been swirling for quite some time and his recent diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency may have intensified them. Pictures of swelling and bruising in his hand has left many speculating about his health.

Not long back, in April 2025, Trump claimed that he aced his annual physical exam at Walter Reed. The US told reporters aboard Air Force One that he got “every answer right” on the cognitive test.

In 2020, during campaigning, Trump bragged on multiple occasions his perfect 2018 test score on Fox News interviews while challenging Joe Biden to take the same cognitive test.
