Pakistani man killed in Abu Dhabi in Iranian missile strikes

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the death of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi amid rising regional tensions in the Middle East.

In a post on X, Sharif said he spoke with his “dear brother” His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to convey Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the dangerous regional escalation following th Israeli attack on Iran and the regrettable strikes against the UAE and other Gulf countries.

Sharif said he expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi. He added that Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the UAE and will always stand by its Emirati brothers and sisters during these difficult times.

Various parts of the United Arab Emirates were shaken following the Israel-US joint military operation in Iran. The sound of explosions was heard in Abu Dhabi as Iran retaliated following Operation Epic Fury (US codename) and Operation Roar of a Lion (Israel codename). According to a report by Reuters, five witnesses, including two Reuters correspondents, heard a sound of explosion as Iran launched missiles at Abu Dhabi. A person also died in the missile attack.

The Al Dhafra Air Base, located in the Southern part of Abu Dahabi also witnessed a missile attack from Iran.

BLAST HEARD IN KUWAIT, QATAR, AND JORDAN

US bases in countries like Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan have been attacked by Iranian missiles.

In Qatar, Iranian missiles struck Al Udeid Air Base. In Kuwait and the Al Saleem military base, and in Jordan, the Muwaffaq al-Salti military base were targeted, respectively. The sound of explosions was heard in all these military bases.

IRAQ WITNESSES TURBULENCE

In an attempt to neutralise the Iran-backed militants, the US-Israel combined force launched an airstrike in Iraq. It targeted the Popular Militia Force (PMF) in Iraq’s Baghdad, an Iran-backed paramilitary organisation. The airstrike killed one member of the organisation and left three others injured.
