Google-Jio AI Partnership Offers Free Gemini Pro to Indian Users

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has expressed strong enthusiasm about the company’s strategic AI partnership with Reliance Jio, highlighting significant benefits for Indian users. The collaboration will provide eligible Jio subscribers with Google’s premium AI services at no additional cost for 18 months.

“Excited to partner with Reliance Jio to bring the best of Google AI to India. Eligible Jio users will receive our AI Pro plan at no extra cost for 18 months, including Gemini 2.5 Pro, 2TB of storage + our latest AI creation tools. Can’t wait to see what we’ll build together!” Sundar Pichai said in a post on X.

Partnership Details and Benefits

The expansive collaboration between Reliance Intelligence and Google aims to accelerate AI adoption across India, aligning with Reliance’s “AI for All” vision. The partnership combines Reliance’s extensive reach with Google’s advanced AI technology to democratize access and strengthen India’s digital foundation.

Starting soon, eligible Jio users will receive Google’s AI Pro plan featuring:

  • Gemini 2.5 Pro – Google’s most capable AI model
  • Advanced image and video generation tools (Nano Banana and Veo 3.1)
  • Notebook LM for study and research
  • 2TB cloud storage

The complete package, valued at ₹35,100, will be accessible through the MyJio app.

Rollout Strategy and Target Audience

Reflecting Jio’s commitment to empowering youth, the initial rollout will prioritize users aged 18-25 on unlimited 5G plans. The service will subsequently expand to include all Jio customers across India in the shortest possible timeframe.

The partnership will also explore developing localized AI experiences that cater to India’s diverse cultural and linguistic landscape.

Infrastructure and Enterprise Solutions

In a significant infrastructure move, Reliance has partnered with Google Cloud to provide broader access to Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). This will enable organizations to train complex AI models and accelerate AI adoption throughout the Indian ecosystem.

Reliance Intelligence becomes Google Cloud’s strategic partner for marketing Gemini Enterprise in India. This next-generation AI platform helps businesses integrate AI into workflows through secure AI agents.
