Key Takeaways

  • New iPad Pro with M5 chip launches in India starting at ₹99,990
  • Pre-orders begin today, availability from October 22
  • Massive AI performance gains: 3.5x faster than M4, 5.6x faster than M1
  • Available in 11-inch and 13-inch models with Ultra Retina XDR display

Apple has officially launched its next-generation iPad Pro featuring the powerful new M5 chip, now available for pre-order in India. The tablet starts at ₹99,990 for the 11-inch Wi-Fi model, with in-store availability beginning October 22 across Apple Stores and authorized resellers.

M5 Chip Performance Breakthrough

The M5 chip delivers unprecedented performance improvements for professional users. It offers up to 3.5x faster AI performance compared to the M4 chip and up to 5.6x faster than the M1 model. This is powered by a next-generation GPU with Neural Accelerators in every core and a 16-core Neural Engine.

The chip also introduces a third-generation ray-tracing engine that provides 1.5x faster 3D rendering over the previous iPad Pro and up to 6.7x faster than M1-based models.

Enhanced Productivity Features

The 10-core CPU configuration (four performance and six efficiency cores) handles demanding creative workflows seamlessly. Users can expect up to 6x faster video transcoding in Final Cut Pro and up to 3.7x faster AI video upscaling in DaVinci Resolve compared to M1 models.

Memory bandwidth has been increased to over 150GB/s – nearly 30% more than previous generations. Storage read and write speeds are up to twice as fast, with 256GB and 512GB models now featuring 12GB unified memory as standard.

Display and Design

Both iPad Pro models maintain exceptional portability with the 11-inch version measuring just 5.3mm thick and the 13-inch model at 5.1mm. Available in space black and silver finishes, they feature the Ultra Retina XDR display with tandem OLED technology.

The display delivers up to 1000 nits full-screen brightness and 1600 nits peak for HDR content. A nano-texture glass option reduces glare for professional use. The tablet supports external displays up to 120Hz with Adaptive Sync for smoother creative workflows and gaming.

Connectivity and Accessories

Connectivity receives significant upgrades with the N1 wireless chip enabling Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support. Cellular models feature the C1X modem for up to 50% faster data speeds with 30% lower power consumption. eSIM, expanded GPS, and 5G support ensure reliable mobile connectivity.

The new iPad Pro supports the Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), and the updated Magic Keyboard with floating design and aluminum palm rest. Fast charging capabilities allow up to 50% charge in approximately 30 minutes using an optional 70W USB-C power adapter.

India Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders are now live through apple.com and the Apple Store app. The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at ₹99,990 (Wi-Fi) and ₹1,19,900 (Wi-Fi + Cellular). The 13-inch model is priced at ₹1,29,900 (Wi-Fi) and ₹1,49,900 (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

Both variants offer storage options of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Customer deliveries and retail availability begin Wednesday, October 22.
