Apple CEO Tim Cook teases “big week ahead;” iPhone 17e, new MacBook, and iPads expected to launch

Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that a wave of product announcements is coming, starting Monday, March 2. “A big week ahead. It all starts Monday morning,” Cook posted on X, all but confirming what the rumor mill has been churning out for weeks.

The company is expected to unveil at least four new products across a three-day stretch, leading up to a hands-on “Apple Experience” event on Wednesday, March 4, in New York, London, and Shanghai. There’s no keynote livestream expected this time—just press releases, product videos, and in-person demos for select media.

A budget MacBook, refreshed iPads, and the iPhone 17e said to headline next week’s lineup

The star of the show could be Apple’s long-rumored lower-cost MacBook — a 12. 9-inch laptop powered by the A18 Pro chip (yes, the one from iPhone 16 Pro) with 8GB RAM and fun color options reminiscent of the old iBook days. Early pricing estimates pegged it at $599, but rising DRAM and NAND costs may push that closer to $699 or $799.

Also on the cards are an M4 iPad Air and an entry-level iPad with the A18 chip, which would finally bring Apple Intelligence to Apple’s most affordable tablet. The iPhone 17e is expected too, packing an A19 chip, MagSafe, and possibly a Dynamic Island—a solid upgrade over the iPhone 16e at the same $599 price.

MacBook Pro may get the Pro and Max chip treatment

Rounding things out, Apple is widely expected to launch 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The base M5 MacBook Pro dropped back in October, so these higher-end variants have been a matter of when, not if. No design changes are expected — Apple is reportedly saving the big OLED and touchscreen overhaul for the M6 generation later this year.

A refreshed Studio Display, new Apple TV, and HomePod mini are also possibilities, though less certain. Either way, it’s shaping up to be Apple’s busiest product week in a while.
