If you think red carpet looks are about excess, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar chose the opposite — minimal. At the BAFTA Film Awards, the couple leaned towards timeless elegance rather than trend-chasing theatrics in a black tuxedo and satin gown, respectively.
Boong, a Manipuri film, was nominated in the Best Children’s & Family Film category, and Akhtar is a co-producer, which made his appearance on the global red carpet even more special. The best part? The film went on to win the award.
Coming back to their outfits, Shibani arrived in a champagne-gold satin halter gown. The open back, finished with a soft bow detail, introduced just the right amount of drama. It was sensual without being over the top.
She kept the styling minimal — statement diamond drop earrings, a soft pink satin clutch, and no heavy layering of jewellery. Her hair was tied in a relaxed updo with loose strands framing her face, keeping the look fresh rather than too polished.
Her makeup leaned towards a natural, dewy glow — luminous skin, softly defined eyes, and a nude-toned lip. Nothing harsh, nothing heavy.
Farhan complemented her in a classic black tuxedo with satin lapels and a bow tie. The tailoring was sharp and clean, and he kept his look simple with his usual hairstyle and a clean shave.
Earlier, Farhan and Shibani also attended the BAFTA Film Awards 2026 Nominees’ Party. Once again, they chose understated looks. Shibani wore a cream draped gown with an asymmetric neckline, a cape-like sleeve on one side, and a thigh-high slit on the other. Farhan swapped the tux for a grey suit paired with a black shirt and no tie.
