CBSE issues warning to Class 10, 12 evaluators over social media posts

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday warned teachers involved in the evaluation of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations not to share information related to the process on social media.

Officials said the board has noticed that some evaluators are posting comments and personal experiences about the marking process online. According to the board, such posts may create confusion among students and parents.

CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said the evaluation process is confidential and teachers are expected to follow strict guidelines while performing their duties.

“It has come to the notice of the board that certain individuals engaged in the evaluation process of Class 10 and Class 12 examinations are posting comments, opinions and experiences on social media platforms. Many of these posts are misleading, factually incorrect and have the potential to create confusion and spread rumours among stakeholders,” he said.

The board stated that any information related to answer sheet evaluation, marking practices or internal discussions must not be shared on public platforms.

BOARD STRESSES CONFIDENTIALITY IN EVALUATION PROCESS

CBSE officials said the evaluation of board examinations follows a structured system with clear protocols. Teachers appointed as evaluators are expected to maintain confidentiality and follow professional conduct during the process.

The board warned that sharing opinions, experiences or comments about evaluation on social media may be treated as a violation of rules. Officials said such actions could lead to disciplinary or legal action if found to be misleading or harmful to the examination process.

According to the board, teachers should avoid posting details that could misrepresent the evaluation system or spread rumours about how answer sheets are checked.

The warning comes at a time when evaluation of the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations is underway across several centres in the country.

CBSE conducts board examinations for millions of students every year and relies on a large number of teachers to assess answer sheets. Officials said maintaining confidentiality during evaluation is essential to protect the credibility of the examination system.

The board has asked evaluators to act responsibly while using social media and to ensure that no confidential information related to the examination process is shared online.
