CBSE cancels Class 10 board exams in Middle East, Class 12 exam on March 7 postponed; check official notice

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the Class 10 board examinations scheduled in several Middle East countries and postponed the Class 12 examination that was set to take place on March 7, 2026. The decision was announced through an official notice which was issued yesterday, March 5, 2026.

The notice has been sent to principals of CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Class 10 exams cancelled

According to the official circular, all Class 10 examinations scheduled between March 7 and March 11, 2026 have been cancelled in these Middle East regions.

The board also cancelled the following previously scheduled papers: March 2, 2026; March 3, 2026; March 5, 2026; March 6, 2026.

CBSE said that the mode of declaration of results for Class 10 students in the Middle East will be notified separately. Students and schools will receive further instructions later.

Class 12 exam on March 7 postponed

For Class 12 students, the board has postponed the examination scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026.

CBSE stated that revised dates will be announced later, depending on the situation in the region. The board added that further decisions about examinations planned from March 9, 2026 onwards will also be communicated after reviewing the conditions.

Advisory for students and schools

According to the official notice, CBSE has advised all Class 12 students and affiliated schools in the Middle East to stay in close contact with their schools and regularly check official announcements for updates regarding the new examination schedule.

Students and parents are advised to follow updates from CBSE and their respective schools for the latest information on revised exam dates and result announcements, according to the official notice.
